Do you eat enough fat?

A lack of one vitamin, mineral, or nutrient affects the functioning of the entire system. Sometimes, it leads to worsening your health. As a rule, health problems are a consequence of a malfunction of your body and metabolism.

Therefore, if your state of health does not satisfy you, you should pay attention to the composition of your plate. A deficiency in unsaturated fatty acids can cause unpleasant symptoms. Therefore, you should include them in your diet, especially if you have at least one of these signs.

Heartache.

Cardiovascular function depends on the level of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which are found in fish oils, legumes, cod liver, and berries. You should add fish to your diet 3-4 times a week. You can eat berries every day. Plus, they’re a great source of antioxidants. Cod liver improves the functioning of the nervous system and fights depressive conditions. Insufficient intake of unsaturated fatty acids leads to thrombosis, blood pressure disorders, and diabetes.

Deterioration of the skin and hair.

You can notice a lack of fat by looking at your skin. It can be dry, pale, stiff, and loose. Also, your hair suffers, too. They can fall out in large quantities, fade and be dry.

Lack of energy and fatigue.

Fats are necessary for the body to get enough energy to function. If you’re on a low-fat diet or don’t eat enough of the right fats, you may feel tired even after waking up. Also, if you suffer from insomnia, headache, anxiety, you should eat fat. Also, pay attention to the quality of the fats you consume. Trans fats are food that destroys your health and does no good for your body. Also, the ratio of animal to vegetable fats should be 80% to 20%.

You experience a constant feeling of coldness.

Scientists have done several studies and found that people who are low in fat have problems with blood circulation. This leads to impaired heat transfer because blood moves very slowly through the body. You can get cold even in hot weather. However, your weight does not affect the feeling of coldness.

Menstrual irregularities in women.

Fats are essential for the production of hormones. Therefore, their deficiency in a woman’s body leads to disruption of the reproductive system organs. The main symptom of such a disorder is menstrual problems.  A woman cannot get pregnant due to a lack of Omega-3, Omega-6, or Omega-9. Therefore, endocrinologists and gynecologists recommend eating fat-containing fish, meat, liver, avocados, and nuts.
