Even a child knows that proper sleep is the basis of a healthy lifestyle. But, many of you ignore this rule and experience chronic sleep deprivation. If you sleep less than your norm, you cannot compensate for it with anything. Healthy eating and physical activity are essential for health, but if you don’t get enough sleep, their benefits are diminished. Thus, even a little sleep deprivation can be a barrier to your health and wellness.

The optimal amount of sleep for an adult should be 7 to 8 hours. However, children should sleep between 11 and 14 hours. Getting enough sleep will help you feel energized and refreshed. Prolonged sleep deprivation leads to both physical and emotional problems. You may notice that after a lack of sleep, your mood worsens, you feel irritated, you cannot remember any information, and so on.

Also, doctors believe that women need longer sleep than men. It is due to the hormonal characteristics of the female body. Also, women get more negative effects from not getting enough sleep. It leads to a disruption in the production of hormones responsible for feelings of fullness, and weight gain occurs even if you eat a healthy diet.

Chronic lack of sleep leads to fatigue. As a rule, this condition is characterized by irritation, decreased concentration, memory impairment and affects performance.
A person who is in this condition can cause work-related injuries or accidents.

The nervous system suffers most from a lack of sleep. Typically, people who sleep very little have a bad mood, increased levels of aggression, and are prone to depression.

To feel full of energy, you must follow some simple guidelines:

  • goes to bed and wakes up at the same time,
  • sleep for at least 7 hours,
  • do not eat 3-4 hours before bedtime,
  • ventilate the room,
  • stop watching TV and gadgets 2 hours before bedtime.

Lack of sleep affects the quality of your work, study, damage relationships, cause sudden outbursts of anger and depression and even pose a threat to life. Plus, each of you wants to be in good health to live a fulfilling life. You won’t get good results if you don’t get enough sleep.

Adequate sleep will help improve your quality of life in various ways. If you are unable to improve your sleep and are suffering from insomnia, you should see your doctor and find the cause of the problem.
