New Research: the Keto Diet has a positive effect on immunity.

A keto diet is often used to build muscle and burn fat. Its effectiveness for weight loss was proven much time. But as it turned out, this is not the only advantage of this power scheme. Yale University conducted a series of studies on mice and found that low-carb nutrition has a positive effect on immunity. Mice, what participated in the experiment, faster and more efficiently fought with the flu virus. These results may be useful for people, but more research is needed to do this.

Fans of the keto diet mainly consume fish, meat, poultry and, in small quantities, non-starchy vegetables and fruits. During the experiment, mice were fed in the same way. They were given foods that were low in carbohydrates and high in fat. Over time, it was found that mice who live on a keto diet live longer than mice under a typical diet. It was found that this was due to the activation of gamma T cells, which are responsible for immunity. This specific cell is present in both mice and humans. Therefore, the results of studies conducted on mice can be applied to people.

According to one of the authors of the study, this discovery was a surprise for them.

To confirm the result, a group of scientists went through many other experiments. They fed a group of mice with foods high in fat and carbohydrates. As it turned out, the T cell in these mice did not activate as a result of such a diet. The introduction of synthetic ketone also did not bring the desired result.

After studying the results of all experiments, the researchers concluded that it is the keto-diet that triggers the activation of the T-cell. And the result of this type of diet you can get not only a beautiful body but also a good immunity resistant to the influenza virus.
