Apathy or laziness: how to see the difference.

Not many people are ready to admit their apathy and believe that they are just lazy. They try to hide their condition so that society, colleagues, and the boss do not consider them lazy. This state is different from laziness and should not be ignored.

Apathy is a chronic feeling of frustration and fatigue. People lose interest in any activity, vital energy and feel indifferent to any event. This condition negatively affects work, worsens relationships with people around, and does not allow you to enjoy life.

As a rule, apathy occurs as a result of chronic stress. Your body and psyche do not cope with it and include a defensive reaction in the form of apathy.
The nervous system starts to work slower so that you can deal with all feelings and emotions.
Unfortunately, many people have symptoms of apathy but ignore them. They believe that this is fatigue that can be eliminated by good rest. As a result, their condition worsens and can develop into severe mental illness.

Therefore, if you notice warning signs in yourself or a loved one, it is better not to ignore the problem, but try to figure it out.

Causes of apathy:

The difference between apathy and laziness is emotion. If you do not want to do some kind of work, but at the same time your emotional state is at a high level, then this is just laziness. Apathy is a loss of interest in life, desires, and motivation.

A person who has apathy loses interest in everything that happens around him. Attacks of apathy take away interest in almost every aspect of life. A person has no desire even for pleasant things, does not feel joy from pleasant events, and so on. The psyche does not react to any stimuli.

Unfortunately, treating apathy takes time. You cannot get rid of your mental problems on your own. Therefore, you should contact psychotherapists and follow their recommendations. The doctor can identify and analyze the cause of this condition and find the best solution and treatment for apathy.

But, in addition to treatment, people with apathy need the support of friends, family, and colleagues. Improving your lifestyle, getting enough sleep, eating a healthy diet and resting will help you get rid of apathy faster, but they are just an addition to the treatment that the doctor prescribed.

Your life depends on more than just physical health. Your psyche is as much a bath as your body. Therefore, pay attention to your emotional state. Emotions, aspirations, and desires are an important part of your life. If you lose one of the elements, the whole system collapses.

Apathy leads to the destruction of physical health if you do not want to cure it.
